Chiropractic care has become an integral part of the multidisciplinary team in hospitals all over the country--particularly when it comes to conservative, non-invasive, and non-pharmaceutical care. Many hospital based settings have leaned heavily on chiropractors to take on more active roles when it comes to musculoskeletal pain in all phases of care (acute and chronic), and due to the cost-effectiveness of chiropractic, it has positioned many DCs in hospitals to become a landing pad for affordable and accessible care for underserved populations. Through a comparative discussion between Dr. Ta and Dr. Price, attendees will look at how two different hospital systems, within the VA and within a non-profit teaching hospital, utilize chiropractic to help care for underserved populations and the importance of topics and issues the ACA legislative committee is targeting everyday to gain more access to healthcare, specifically veterans and Medicare patients.

Learning Objectives:

1. Identify barriers and obstacles to healthcare for under-served populations in your community.

 2. Differentiate the cost-effective benefits of chiropractic care vs. other invasive or pharmaceutical interventions.

 3. Explain how chiropractic care fits within hospital-based settings.

 4. State the importance of legislative efforts for better access to chiropractic care.
