This presentation will chronicle developments in the VA Chiropractic Program since its inception in October 2004. An overview of accomplishments in patient care, research, and academics will be presented. Attendees will learn about VA career and educational opportunities first-hand from practicing VA DCs. Material will include a discussion of VA’s Community Care Program, and groundbreaking postgraduate training programs for chiropractors. Content will be presented by a dynamic panel of administrators, clinicians, and early career DCs.
Anthony Lisi, DC

Anthony Lisi, DC is the Chiropractic Program Director for the Veterans Health Administration, overseeing all national programmatic issues related to the integration of chiropractic clinical services, education, and research. Previously, in 2004 he was the first chiropractor appointed to the medical staff of the VA Connecticut Healthcare System, where he developed processes for integrating hospital-based chiropractic services and interprofessional clinical education. He is also an Assistant Professor at the Yale School of Medicine Department of Biomedical Informatics and Data Science, and has authored numerous peer-reviewed papers on topics including low back pain management, spinal manipulation, interprofessional education, and chiropractic services. Dr. Lisi is a senior member of the Clinical Practice Guidelines Development Committee of the North American Spine Society, and he received the American Chiropractic Association’s 2015 Academician of the Year, 2017 Chiropractor of the Year, and 2023 Humanitarian of the Year awards.
