This course is designed to teach attendees about common conditions which may require a referral for interventional pain management. How the conditions present to the office, what they look like on MRI, and how referrals should be made. The most common types of interventional pain management procedures will be discussed (what the procedures are, what conditions they treat, what medications are used, why some medications are preferred over others, and what outcomes are expected). An increased ability to recognize pathology on MRI, discuss these findings with patients and professionals, request consultations with pain Physicians, discuss pain management procedures with patients, and understand the mechanism and benefit of these procedures will be gained from this presentation.
Take Home: An increased ability to understand how to integrate and refer to an interventional pain management physician and how to communicate with pain management providers and patients regarding the when and why of patient referral and what interventional pain management procedures the patient may expect to address their condition.

Robert McKnight, DC, DIANM
Robert McKnight, DC, DIANM, serves as the president of the ACA Council on Chiropractic Orthopedics. He is the clinic director at Advanced Spine & Rehabilitation of Utah LLC, a multispecialty spine care center consisting of chiropractic orthopedists and medical physicians. Dr. McKnight is a board-certified chiropractic orthopedist and has been in practice for 20 years. He is also an instructor for the University of Bridgeport. Dr. McKnight has well over 10,000 hours of direct clinical training with chiropractic orthopedists, pain management physicians, family medicine doctors, and orthopedic spine surgeons. He has assisted with thousands of interventional pain management procedures and spine surgeries. Dr. McKnight is certified in regenerative medicine. He has served as the team chiropractor for professional football and baseball teams, athletes in the Professional Rodeo Cowboy Association, professional dancers, and Broadway performers.
