This interactive two-part series will provide learners a framework for the assessment and implementation of clinical practices intended to improve patient outcomes and reduce health disparities. Attendees receive a supplemental packet to include a sample practice analysis form, a sample intake form, full text links to all articles cited, and handouts that correspond with each topic presented. These handouts are completed during the session and provide attendees the opportunity for a real-time evaluation of clinician and clinic. Attendees outline solutions through collective application of handouts and journaling in the development of a culturally responsive clinical environment.
Learning Objectives:
- Recognize patient challenges in receiving culturally responsive health care
- Assess and analyze current clinical practices for the reduction of health disparities
- Develop a blueprint for in-office procedures and standards

Chair, ACA Committee on Equity, Diversity and Inclusion
Dr. William “Beau” Foshee (he/they) serves as chair of the ACA Committee on Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion, ACA alternate delegate for East Texas, chair of the ACA Membership Committee, and as a member of both the ACA Investment Committee and the ACA Legislative Committee. They are a graduate of Northwestern Health Sciences University as a Diversity Leadership Scholar. He was named a Philanthropy Fund Foundation Scholar in recognition of his leadership and service to the LGBTQIA community. Dr Foshee works to improve culturally competent delivery of chiropractic care and has been privileged to present courses and conversations on health equity to chiropractic stakeholders in national and state organizations, university audiences, and regulatory agencies. Dr. Foshee is Director of Clinical Development for MyoCore Personalized Pain Care, a multi-clinic, hospital-based chiropractic system with offices in more than 20 locations.

Dr. Katie Benson (she/her) and her young, vibrant family live in Overland Park, Kansas. Her ACA service began at Cleveland Chiropractic College where she was a SACA Leadership Conference Planning Chair. She went on to serve the SACA National Executive Board as Legislative Chair and on the NextGen ACA Committee. Dr. Benson has served as a SACA Leadership Conference Advisor since graduation which has introduced her to the broadest network of exceptional minds in early career chiropractors and students.She is an active Kansas Chiropractic Association (KCA) member who represents her area as KCA Kansas City Metro Division Director. KCA recognized her as a Young Doctor of the Year for her contributions to chiropractic in Kansas. Dr. Benson is Clinic Director at MyoCore at Overland Park Regional Hospital and the Midwest Lead Regional Trainer for MyoCore Personalized Pain Care. Additionally she serves as the Patient-Centered Care, Evidence-Informed Practice Advisory Board Chair for MyoCore. She has trained more than two dozen qualified chiropractic doctors and externs to serve patients in interdisciplinary health care settings. Dr. Benson is proud to have remained active in chiropractic legislation activities through seeking co-sponsors for ACA and KCA legislative priorities by hosting officials in her office, conducting in-person meetings, and continued investment in advocacy efforts aimed at improving outcomes for both chiropractic patients and their providers.
