Carter Comrie, PhD, LP

John D. Dingell VA Medical Center
Dr. Carter Comrie, Ph.D., LP, is a licensed clinical health psychologist in Southeast Michigan. Currently, he is a member of the staff at the John D. Dingell VA Medical Center, where he is a staff psychologist for the Mental Health Homeless Program. Prior to joining the VA, Dr. Comrie was the Mental Health Lead at Crossover Health Detroit, where he led a team of mental health professionals and conducted research on the differing factors that can negatively influence not only mental healthcare, but whole health as well.
Dr. Comrie earned his Ph.D. from the University of Detroit Mercy and completed his post-doctoral fellowship at Ascension Genesys Hospital. In addition to clinical practice, Dr. Comrie serves as Chairperson for the Michigan Psychological Association (MPA) Pain Psychology Task Force and as Vice-Chairperson for the Michigan Health Professional Recovery Committee. Outside of work, Dr. Comrie emphasizes the importance of physical activity in mental health treatment. He incorporates running, exploring local restaurants, and spending time with family into his own wellness routine, and encourages clients to explore similar activities.

James Farthing Leonard, DC

Dr. James Leonard, D.C., is a Staff Chiropractor in the Central Virginia VA Medical Center system. Before joining the VA, he was the Market Provider Manager for Crossover Health Neighborhood Health Centers in Detroit, Michigan. In this role, he helped establish and manage an integrated direct-to-employer healthcare ecosystem.
He received his Doctorate from Palmer Chiropractic College in Davenport, Iowa. James Leonard has served on multiple multidisciplinary task forces, including the Utah Coalition for Opioid Overdose Prevention, MIBAC Michigan Back Collaborative, and the ACA’s Opioid Legislative Action Committee. He is passionate about systems design, interdisciplinary care, and intentional care coordination.
