This session will explore the Whole Health movement and its role in advancing more equitable, patient-centered care. We will discuss how modern healthcare models are shifting toward prevention, integration, and whole-person approaches, and what these changes mean for equity, access, and patient outcomes. The conversation will highlight opportunities for chiropractors to engage with evolving care systems, support diverse patient needs, and help reduce disparities.

Learning Objectives:

1. Analyze the principles Whole Health and its impact on advancing equitable, patient-centered care, including prevention, integration, and whole-person approaches.

2. Identify opportunities for chiropractors to engage in evolving healthcare systems to support diverse patient needs and reduce disparities.


Andrea (Ohmann) Albertson, DC

Research and Policy Associate

Northwestern Health Sciences University, Center for Research and Innovation

Andrea Albertson, DC (she/her) is a Research and Policy Associate at Northwestern Health Sciences University (NWHSU). She earned both her Bachelor of Science and Doctor of Chiropractic degrees from NWHSU and is in the inaugural cohort of RAND REACH Scholars. Dr. Albertson serves as Vice President of the Minnesota Chiropractic Association and as the Minnesota Alternate Delegate to the American Chiropractic Association. She is also an active member of the American Public Health Association’s Chiropractic Health Care Section and the Minnesota Public Health Association. Her research focuses on mixed-methods studies examining access to complementary and integrative health care services, with particular emphasis on medically underserved and vulnerable populations.

Stephanie Halloran, DC, MS

Stephanie Halloran, DC, MS: Dr. Halloran grew up in the Chicago suburbs and earned her BS in Kinesiology from the University of Illinois in Champaign-Urbana. She then attended the University of Western States, where she received her Doctor of Chiropractic and MS in Human Nutrition and Functional Medicine. Upon graduation she completed a one-year chiropractic residency program in Chiropractic Integrated Practice with the VA Connecticut Healthcare System and remained two additional years thereafter as a postdoctoral research fellow at Yale University. Following fellowship, Dr. Halloran was at the W.G. (Bill) Hefner Medical Center, working two years in the Whole Health department in the Charlotte metropolitan area, prior to arriving to the Boston VA. With additional training in acupuncture, functional/lifestyle medicine, and pain neuroscience, she focuses on many aspects of pain presentations to include the impact of movement/exercise, nutrition, sleep and stress. Dr. Halloran is actively involved in professional organizations, most was named to the 2023 SpineLine 20 Under 40 Class.
