Prevention of Medical Errors Amidst a Pandemic

Simulation training is an established training tool in many military and aviation settings. As chiropractors, we are educated to recognize and prevent errors in the patient's care. However, we are experiencing patient care situations with unparalleled history due to the COVID pandemic, the mutations, and the sequela suffered by its victims. It has been found that at least one-third of COVID-19 patients may experience lingering neurological issues after recovering from the infection, and 30 – 50% of people are going to have some mental health issues. The course's goal is to provide the chiropractor and their staff with an overview of the problem of medical errors, factors contributing to the occurrence of these errors, and steps that can be taken to reduce medical errors in key care settings. We will discuss policies and procedures to mitigate patient care mistakes, resulting in a decreased risk to patients and doctors themselves.
