This webinar compares military mTBI with sports related mTBI with an emphasis on the nature and dangers of football targeting. A brief review of the Glasgow Coma Scale following a mTBI will point towards the need for follow-up Vestibular Rehabilitation and its associated components including testing for gait, ambulation, static and dynamic balance as well as quantitative vestibular testing.
On completion of this webinar, participant will be able to:
- Recognize and understand the causes and symptoms of mTBI
- Explain how to apply both the Glasgow Coma Scale and the SCAT-5 Questionnaire
- Discuss the various techniques of applied Vestibular Rehab

Dr. Jerrold Simon graduated from National University of Health Sciences in 1984 and returned to Ohio to establish the Lancaster Chiropractic Rehab Center, Inc. in Lancaster, Ohio. He has 3 undergraduate degrees including a B.A. in Music Composition, B.A. in Math Education, and a B.S. in Human Biology. Prior to attending professional school, he was a high school mathematics teacher. Dr. Simon has earned Diplomates in Nutrition, Rehabilitation, Disability Analysis and Electrodiagnosis. He has published numerous booklets, audios, and articles in various scientific journals. He was also a T.V. talk show host for many years for “AmeriHealth Talk”, a Columbus, Ohio health talk show.
Dr. Simon has held numerous leadership positions within the chiropractic profession including President of the Central Ohio Chiropractic Association, President of the Ohio State Chiropractic Association, President of the ACA Nutrition Council, President and Co-Founder of the American Board of Chiropractic Specialties as well as President of the ACA Rehab Council. He is on the Postgraduate Faculty of several chiropractic colleges and currently teaches the Rehab Advanced Standing Series as well as Post-Surgical Rehab in various states across the United States. He lectures nationally on the topics of rehab, nutrition, disability analysis and electrodiagnosis.
His office, the Lancaster Chiropractic Rehab Center, is located just south of Columbus, Ohio. Dr. Simon has been in practice for over 30 years and stays on the cutting edge of modern treatment modalities for the benefit of his patients including spinal decompression therapy for disc disorders, kinesiotaping for shoulder, knee and elbow disorders, nutritional counseling and rehabilitation of the spine and extremities. His clinic offers digital radiology for state-of-the-art x-ray analysis and EMG used to diagnose nerve disorders such radiculopathy and peripheral neuropathy as well as muscle disorders such as myotonia and myasthenia gravis. He has staff privileges at the Fairfield Medical Center and is a certified O-DOT medical examiner having performed well over 1,000 O-DOT exams for truckers and other commercial drivers.
