This presentation will provide an overview of the current policies, trends, and recent developments within the Veterans Affairs (VA) Chiropractic and Community Care programs. Attendees will gain insights into how chiropractic care is evolving within the VA system, along with the key initiatives that are shaping its integration into veteran health care. The presentation will also focus on the clinical considerations for effective case management within these programs. We will explore best practices for managing cases in alignment with VA standards, addressing specific challenges that chiropractors may encounter when treating veteran populations. Attendees will leave with a comprehensive understanding of both the administrative and clinical aspects of providing chiropractic care in the VA and community care settings, ensuring they are equipped to deliver optimal care to veterans.

David Paris, DC, MS, DACRB, currently serves as the chiropractic section chief of the Veterans Administration (VA) Northern California Healthcare System and as VISN 21 network-wide education coordinator for VA’s Whole Health System. His experience includes the VA Chiropractic Field Advisory Committee and the VA Professional Standards Board. Dr. Paris serves on the ACA House of Delegates as the Northern California delegate and he is vice chair of Clinical Compass. He has served many years on the California Chiropractic Association executive committee and as its chair of governmental affairs. He is a 2001 graduate of Palmer College of Chiropractic West and received his Master of Science degree from Parker University.
